We found this touching article about a patriotic group in Kingston, MA published almost three months ago.
Kingston is a coastal community in Massachusetts with around 12,000 residents and there is this group with the goal of support our troops and their families.
For example, they send care packages with food, clothes and special staff to soldiers serving in Afghanistan or Irak.
Moreover, they have become with this great idea to give a little recognition to soldier's families that sometimes feel so lonely on this path. A banner decorated with yellow ribbons saying "Hope and Support for our Troops" will be placed for a month in front of their houses as a way to show appreciation for them.
We absolutely endorse this idea, can not imagine how difficult for a mother, father or any family member is too face having a beloved one going overseas, a proud moment for sure, but also, the possibility that they can be hurt is always present.
Another common way for people to show support is through
lapel pins, is very common for soldier's relatives to wear
yellow ribbon pins as a reminder or tribute for the one on duty. But, why not show our support and caring wearing them too? Maybe for special occasions like holidays or public events as well. It would be a way to show them that they're not alone in their feelings and we share their proud and desire for a safe return to home.
Well, that's it for today's post. Hope you find this idea inspiring as we did. Well done Kingston, MA!
