Veterans Day is around the corner and KC Chiefs, a professional football team based in Kansas City, just announced today that they will honor veterans and active members of the military with an in-stadium recognition this Sunday at the game vs. Buffalo. And this is only the beginning, they will lead events and activities until Veterans Day on November 11.
The Chiefs are joining the VFW Foundation (Veterans of Foreign Wars), on the Return the Favor campaign, an awareness and fundraising campaign to honor, celebrate and support active-duty and retired military and their families. In order to fundraise for the cause, the Chiefs Team Store will be selling Return the Favor lapel pins until the end of November. Fans and people interested can donate also by text or visiting www.returnthefavor.orgFor more information please visit KCChiefOnce again, lapel pins are used to help a fundraising effort, for sure, donors have a better incentive to give when they receive a beautiful custom pin in exchange and besides that, they can proudly wear them and encourage other people to collaborate.
We applaud KC Chiefs initiative and hopefully they're setting an example for other sport teams or organizations to join the cause as well. Go Chiefs!
