Doing a Fundraising? Get a Celebrity to Support your Cause

Each year UK people express their support for The Royal British Legion's charity work through the Poppy Appeal.

Every year, the Legion organizes a fund-raising drive in the weeks before Remembrance Sunday (second Sunday in November), during which artificial poppies are offered to the public in return for a charitable donation. Lapel Pins, Badges and Brooches are the most popular poppy emblems used in this campaign.

Celebrities like Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell are supporting the cause as well. They wore beautiful and elegant poppy emblems on their respective recent TV appearances.

With this initiative, the exposure that the fundraising is getting is huge and definitively it will help to motivate people to get involved.

The Royal British Legion, which runs the appeal, said: ‘Shows like The X Factor are shown to millions of people and it is bound to raise awareness and encourage people to wear a poppy.’ Referring to the poppies worn by TV personalities, spokesman Robert Lee added: ‘On the internet there’s already been a huge demand for them and we’ve been inundated with calls from people wanting to know where to get them from. - Mail Online -

People are going online to look for poppy emblems and custom made lapel pins are a perfect option. Personalized pins are not expensive and they allow to include some intricate details depending on the type you choose. For example hard enamel pins provide a classic look and with a sandblast finish it will look like a fine piece of jewelry.

So, are you leading a fundraising drive? Try to get a public person or celebrity involved, he or she doesn't have to be a super star, maybe someone well known in your local community.

We know, it sounds difficult! You probably are saying, how I will get in contact with them? Here are some options: Email, Facebook pages or Twitter. Are they going to respond? We definitively don't know but for sure it'll worth it to give it a try. Good luck!
