Using lapel pins can help boost the respect of your hotel business

For those who care about continuing education and learning, obtaining certifications that accredit them is very important, and acknowledging these accomplishments a plus. Specially in the hotel industry, where quality of service is a big determining factor for choosing one supplier against others

In the hotel and accomodations industry, there are several certifications: from food and hospitality to housekeeping and administration. An interesting point on these certifications is the level of respect a particular one may have, and the influence a name can have on its level of respect within the industry.

As a long time supporter of the certification, he shared some disappointment that the MHS certification did not appear to be as respected by hoteliers because it lacked the "C" (certified) component in the name.   He pointed out that "the preparation, time and (test) questions were the same as for the CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator) in many regards."

Read how the the inclusion of the word "Certified" has changed the perceive value of the Masters Hotel Supplier program by the Educational Institute of AH&LA

Displaying awards and certifications' logos as lapel pins will certainly increase respect by a potential customer.

When I see someone displayin a certification or award or excellence lapel pins, I feel the message:

"I work very hard to give my customers the best service" "I am continuosly looking for ways to improve my business and the excellence in everything we do"
